Jasper 1998-2007

This past Thursday (4.26.07), at around 11pm, we lost the oldest member of our pack. He was his usual happy, go-lucky, squirrel-hunting self up until the last day when he lost his fight with mast cell cancer and chemo and his little lungs filled with fluid.

During his life, Jasper lived in Ohio, Colorado and Kentucky. He spent summers on the Georgian Bay in Canada. He was certified in Obedience and had more heart and gusto than some dogs twice his size. Jasper was ever-ready for a new adventure.

He was well-loved by all those who knew him and had a plethora of nicknames, including "the Dr. Seuss dog".

Happy trails, Jazz-man...we miss you.

The Shriner clan will most definitely miss Jazzie, and remember all the good times. What a wonder-full life our dogs lead. You should be very proud of the life you gave the little guy.

It is just not the same with Jazzie not trying to dig out to help during protection, or just seeing him sitting there with his give a darn attitude. He was a very special little guy and is very much missed. Even at the end he had the same spirit and he loved his family very much. It was an honor to get to know him.
